Job Description

 Safe operation of all machinery during his watch according to instructions. 
 The maintenance of: 
o Boilers and associated equipment such as valves, level gauges, safety valves, boiler water test and treatment procedures, fuel burner control and soot blowers etc. cleaning. 
o Fuel filters and burners. 
o Cooling water treatment main engine. 
 Checking and proper running, maintenance and weekly running test of lifeboat motors, emergency generator, fire pump and air compressor 
 Overhauling start air and fuel valves for main engine and auxiliary engines. 
 Reporting anything abnormal to the C/E or to the 2/E. 
 May be called upon for stand-by at any time as circumstances may so require. 
 Tightness control of running condition, overhauling and replacing of fuel pumps, fuel valves, starting valves. 
 Cleaning of fuel filters, lub oil filters, turbocharger air suction filters, monitoring and update record of total running such as cylinder cover with valves, cylinder liner piston with rings, main bearings, connection rod bearings etc. and lubricating oil system. 
 Ensuring proper maintenance and operation of emergency generator and emergency fire pump, including weekly running test. 
 Taking cares of chemical stock. 
 Participating in implementation of the garbage management plan.
