Job Description

• Assist in proper maintenance and recording of safety equipment under the instructions
• Do maintenance work such as rust scaling and painting of safety related equipment, like piping, release mechanisms, pressure bottles etc.
• Be responsible for the Slopchest items sale and proper maintenance of accounts.
• Be involved with ballasting/ deballasting/ loading and discharging of the vessel
• In case assigned by the Master, he must duly maintain and update vessel’s arrival and departure Crew List, Provision Store Lists, Crew Effects List and Port Declaration.
• Maintain and updates the Radio Publications, in case corrections required.
• Assist in any secretarial services related to the vessel’s port clearance.

He has knowledge of the following:

 Maintain and care of two-way radio apparatus for survival craft 
 Firefighting equipment 
 Assist Chief Officer in cargo operation 
 Update fire station bills 
 Have general obligation as Chief Officer's secretary 
 Assist the Chief Officer in cargo planning 
 Stand sea watches underway 
 Be responsibility for ship's position 
 Maintain breathing apparatus
