Job Description

Operational engineers

In-charge of all the operational engineers and the crew of the engine room

Appraisal reports

Preparing appraisal reports for engine room ratings and advising the Chief Engineer on the performance of engineers and ratings

Engine log book

Maintaining the Engine Log Book

Emergency equipment

Ensuring that all emergency plant and equipment is in good working conditions, that it is tested at set intervals, and that it is available at all times

Safety of personnel

Risk assessment, briefing, and safety training of the entire engine crew, especially for the junior engineers and fresh crew

Safety and compliance

Ensuring that engine room operations are conducted as per the requirements of the technical procedures and other applicable procedures

Emergency maintenance

Repairing or replacing failed components, clearing blockages in pipes and pumps, patching leaks, addressing electrical faults, and repairing hull damage

Engine room safety

Ensuring the safety, efficiency, and maintenance of machinery, including the engine room and deck machinery

Skills and Qualifications:

AT LEAST 18 MONTHS OF EXPERIENCE AS 2ND ENGINEER

WITH OR WITHOUT VALID US VISA 

HOLDING VALID DOCUMENTS
