Job Description

Protection

Fourth engineers are responsible for protecting ships property against loss or damage and against irregular or wasteful practices by any member of the engine department.

Assistance

Fourth engineers act as the assistant to Chief Engineer during critical operations such as bunkering (HFO, DO and Lub oil), sludge and bilge discharge.

Safety

Fourth engineers are responsible for the proper, safe, efficient, and economical operation of the vessel's machinery and equipment. They are also responsible for contributing to a safety culture by understanding and complying with various safety processes within the Safety Management System.

Inventory

Fourth engineers are responsible for checking the inventory and location of all purifier and compressor spares, pumps spares, and tools. They are also responsible for maintaining the inventory status of stores and spares for their responsible ministry.

Watchkeeping

Fourth engineers are responsible for carrying out watchkeeping duties as per the schedule. This includes assisting in the engine room during maneuvering.

Maintenance

Fourth engineers are responsible for the maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment. This includes pumps, compressors, purifiers, ballast water treatment systems, ballast system valves and pumps, cranes/gantries, and auxiliary engines.

Skills and Qualifications:

AT LEAST 18 MONTHS OF EXPERIENCE AS FOURTH ENGINEER

WITH OR WITHOUT US VISA

HOLDING VALID DOCUMENTS 

MUST HAVE BUNKERING VESSEL EXPERIENCE
