In 1975, BNI became one of the very first manning companies to provide an all-Filipino complement for Panamax and Capesize bulk carriers operated by Japanese and Hongkong principals. At the moment, BNI is providing crew management services to fifty-six (56) ocean going vessels, ranging from 8,000 DWT dry cargo vessels up to 180,000 DWT Capesize bulk carriers. BNI has a pool of over 1,200 well-trained and experienced deck and engine officers and ratings. BNI boasts of a high retention rate among its officers and crew, over 95%. Almost 70% of its junior and senior officers, including masters and chief engineers, started with the company as apprentices. Furthermore, the variety of vessels in the BNI fleet furnishes the company with great flexibility in manning vessel plying any voyage route in the world. Lastly, BNI has been certified to having complied with the ISO-9002 Standard for Manning Services since 1996 under Class NK - proof of BNI's dedication to quality service in the field of crew management.
